Gukmin Sinmungo Service Suspended Due to National Information Resources Service Fire
Civil Complaints Can Be Submitted via 'Temporary Civil Complaint Application' Board
Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Kwangdeok) announced that, in response to the suspension of the Gukmin Sinmungo system following a fire at the National Information Resources Service on September 26, it has set up a temporary civil complaint reception desk on the city’s website to reduce inconvenience for residents. This service has been available since the 15th.
Immediately after the system failure, the city established its own manual and has been receiving and processing civil complaints from residents through in-person visits, mail, and fax. To further reduce any gaps in civil administration, an online complaint reception desk has now been added to the website.
Residents can submit complaints after identity verification by selecting 'Comprehensive Civil Complaints → Submit Complaint → Temporary Complaint Submission (Gukmin Sinmungo Alternative)' from the menu at the top of the website.
Through the operation of the temporary desk, the city aims to minimize inconvenience for residents and to provide stable administrative services by maintaining a multi-channel complaint reception and processing system-including online, in-person, and mail-even during disaster situations.
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "Even in situations where administrative systems are paralyzed due to disasters such as fires, it is important to establish our own systems to minimize administrative gaps and inconvenience for residents. We will do our utmost to respond promptly to various disaster situations and to provide stable administrative services that residents can trust."
