Wonju City Holds Final Briefing for 2025 Wonju Dumpling Festival
A High-Quality Festival Promised for Citizens and Visitors

Wonju City, Gangwon Province, held a ceremony on the 15th to appoint Chef Lee Yeonbok as an ambassador and followed it with the final briefing session for the '2025 Wonju Dumpling Festival,' which will be held for three days from October 24 to 26.

The ambassador appointment ceremony, held at the investment consultation room on the 7th floor of Wonju City Hall, was attended by Mayor Won Kangsoo, Park Changho, CEO of the Wonju Cultural Foundation, Chef Lee Yeonbok, and festival officials.


Chef Lee Yeonbok is a renowned master of Chinese cuisine in Korea, widely loved by the public for his popularity and approachable image. Through this appointment, he will participate in various promotional activities for the Wonju Dumpling Festival and contribute to enhancing the city brand value of Wonju through dumplings.


Subsequently, at 4:20 p.m., the '2025 Wonju Dumpling Festival Final Briefing Session' was held at the Namsangol Cultural Center, where the preparation process was reviewed and the overall operational plans-including program composition, transportation and safety management, and promotional strategies-were finalized.


In addition, members of the organizing committee, Wonju City officials, and representatives from the Wonju Cultural Foundation will thoroughly review the festival's overall safety management system, traffic control plans, and on-site staff deployment.


Furthermore, a total of 32 food booths selected through previous booth recruitment and showcases, as well as citizen participation programs, have been finalized. The festival will feature a variety of programs for all ages, including dumpling cooking classes, live cooking shows, local art performances, and a cultural arts experience zone.


Mayor Won Kangsoo stated, "With Chef Lee Yeonbok joining, the Wonju Dumpling Festival will become even more vibrant and attract greater attention. As we have thoroughly reviewed all the preparations at today's final briefing, we will present a festival that will satisfy both citizens and visitors."
