This achievement is the result of Pocheon City prioritizing education as its top policy since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration and focusing policy and financial investments through close cooperation with the Pocheon Office of Education.

Based on a commitment to education-centered administration and consensus within the local community, the city was designated as a pilot (leading) area for the Educational Development Special Zone in July last year. The acquisition of this special grant officially recognizes the achievements of various educational innovation projects promoted by Pocheon City and the Pocheon Office of Education since the designation.

The city plans to use the secured budget to accelerate educational development by investing in key projects such as regional educational innovation and nurturing future talent.

Baek Younghyeon, Mayor of Pocheon, stated, "We will continue to strengthen our cooperation with the Pocheon Office of Education so that Pocheon can grow through education and become an educational city where outstanding local talent can settle. We will spare no support to achieve this."

So Seongsuk, Superintendent of the Pocheon Office of Education, said, "Securing additional funding through the performance management evaluation was possible thanks to the dedicated efforts of everyone involved in Pocheon education. We will continue to drive field-oriented educational innovation so that students can grow as members of the local community and become leaders of the future society."

Meanwhile, as Pocheon City enters its second year operating as a pilot (leading) area for the Educational Development Special Zone, it plans to hold the "Educational Development Special Zone Performance Sharing Event" at the Pocheon Banwol Art Hall Grand Theater on November 25. The event will provide an opportunity for citizens and education stakeholders to participate together and share the achievements of the special zone projects and discuss future directions for development.
