In the invitation, Samsung Electronics emphasized, "Samsung always puts the needs of users first and has pioneered new ways to connect and experience the world," adding, "As a leader in mobile AI, we are opening a new category of AI-native devices."
Regarding Project Muhan, Samsung Electronics explained, "Android XR is designed to expand across a variety of form factors, bringing AI to the center of immersive everyday experiences," and introduced Project Muhan as "the first product equipped with this open and scalable Android XR platform."
The company further stated, "With practical yet new immersive experiences, the infinite possibilities of XR are now becoming reality."
Project Muhan is an XR device developed by Samsung Electronics in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. It features 'Android XR', an XR-dedicated operating system jointly developed by the three companies, as well as Google's AI agent 'Gemini'. Users wearing the headset can interact with Gemini and gather necessary information in a virtual space displayed through the lenses in front of their eyes.
According to the IT industry, Project Muhan is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's XR-dedicated application processor (AP), the 'Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2' chip.
The display will use 4K micro OLED (organic light-emitting diode) panels, with one for each eye. The resolution reaches 4,032 PPI (pixels per inch), totaling 29 million pixels. This surpasses the 23 million pixels of the Apple Vision Pro. Industry sources estimate that the price of Project Muhan will be in the mid-2 million won range.
This Galaxy event will be broadcast online through Samsung.com, the Samsung Electronics Newsroom, and the Samsung Electronics YouTube channel.
