Presenting the Role and Vision of School Leaders
Paek Jonghun, Superintendent of the Gyeongnam Office of Education, participated as a speaker at the 2025 APEC School Leadership Capacity Building Program.
On October 14, Superintendent Paek delivered a keynote speech on the topic "Global Future Society: The Role and Challenges of School Leaders" at the 2025 APEC School Leadership Capacity Building Program held at the Inter-Burgo Hotel in Daegu.

In his speech, he presented the role and vision of school leaders who will lead future society, focusing on the following points: addressing educational disparities amid social inequality and the climate crisis; changes in the educational paradigm brought about by artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital transformation; inclusive future education for all; and the direction of educational innovation through global solidarity and cooperation.
He shared examples such as the future education platform based on AiTalkTalk, practice-oriented ecological transition education, and global cooperation programs currently being promoted by the Gyeongnam Office of Education, emphasizing the need to expand educational cooperation among APEC member countries.
Superintendent Paek stated, "Education must now transcend regional boundaries and connect with the world, and future education should nurture global citizens who understand the values of diversity and inclusion."
The program was co-hosted by the Central Education Training Institute of the Ministry of Education and the APEC International Education Cooperation Institute, with principals and teachers from kindergartens, elementary, and secondary schools in 10 APEC member countries, including Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand, in attendance.
