Pure Gold Rice Grain Prizes and 10th Anniversary "Catch 10 Seconds" Event
Celebratory Performances by Popular Trot Singers Including Hong Jinyoung and Shin Sung
Cheorwon County in Gangwon Province will host the "2025 Cheorwon Odae Rice Festival" for three days from October 17 to 19 at the parking lot near Eunhasu Bridge, 2721 Jangheung-ri, Dongsong-eup, Cheorwon County.
The opening ceremony of the festival will kick off energetically at 10:30 a.m. on October 17 with a traditional Korean music performance. This will be followed by a flag parade featuring eight agricultural organizations and an opening performance event, creating a time to share the joy of a bountiful harvest.
Various booths will be operated to promote the value of Cheorwon agricultural products, including the "Cheorwon Odae Rice Promotion Hall" and the "Cheorwon Agricultural and Specialty Products Sales Booth." At the festival site, visitors can purchase Cheorwon Odae Rice at a special price (35,000 won for 10kg) through the Cheorwon DMZ Market and agricultural specialty product sales booths. In addition, the "Cheorwon Odae Rice Song Festival" and the "Cheorwon Odae Rice Cooking Contest" will further promote Cheorwon Odae Rice, and there will be a stage where local artists and residents can enjoy performances together.
On the second day of the festival, October 18, starting at 3:00 p.m., popular trot singers such as Hong Jinyoung and Shin Sung will give celebratory performances. The festive mood will be heightened with exciting performances and interactive events for the audience.
There will also be a variety of events in which visitors can directly participate. The "Find the Golden Rice" event will award pure gold rice grains, and in celebration of the festival's 10th anniversary, events such as "Catch the 10 Seconds" will offer Cheorwon Odae Rice as prizes in various giveaways.
For children and families, the "Straw Play Yard" will provide a space where the whole family can enjoy activities such as straw swings and traditional games. In addition, experience programs such as "Odae Rice Rice Ball Making," "Iron Pot Rice Cooking and Rice Cake Pounding Experience," and "Odae Rice Bar Rice Cake Grilling" will be available, allowing visitors to enjoy the taste and aroma of Cheorwon in one place.
