A Festival Where Nature, Education, and Family Come Together
Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) will host the 11th Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival from October 17 to 19 for three days in the area of the Jwagwangcheon Local Garden in Jeonggwan-eup.
The Jeonggwan Ecological Stream Learning and Culture Festival was recognized for its outstanding festival content, having been selected as the "2024 Busan Metropolitan City Designated Best Festival" in this year's district and county festival evaluations, and also designated as a "2025 Promising Festival."
Celebrating its 11th year, this year's festival will feature even more enriching experiences and a diverse array of cultural events.
During the festival, a variety of programs will be offered, including a street parade, a walking contest, science and English experience events, a literary and art competition, a youth gathering, the Jeonggwan Sharing Free Market, Jwagwangcheon ecological experiences, and a book concert.
This year, new content such as the "Jwagwangcheon Local Garden Children's Song Festival" and a "Robot Competition" will be introduced, drawing much anticipation.
On the first day, October 17, there will be performances by lifelong learning program participants, a music show commemorating the 10th anniversary of Jeonggwan-eup's elevation to town status, and celebratory performances by local and invited singers.
On October 18, there will be a drawing contest and a writing contest for children and youth, followed by the official opening ceremony and the youth gathering event "Dalbamdalcho." Popular invited singers such as B.O will also perform, further elevating the festival atmosphere.
On the final day, October 19, the festival will begin with a family walking contest, followed by the "Jwagwangcheon Local Garden Children's Song Festival," a celebratory show for the local garden, and the closing ceremony. The finale will feature performances by popular singers including Yang Ji-won, An Somi, and Min Kyunghoon.
Additionally, from October 18 to 19, creative science experience learning, astronomical observation experiences, and family English learning sessions will be held at Witgol Park in front of Jeonggwan Children's Library. The fountain plaza will host the youth-led experience booth "Dalbamdalcho," and the central park area will feature an on-site college entrance consulting booth in collaboration with Jongro Academy, creating a family-participation festival that blends education and play.
There will also be a book concert by Kim Yeona, a writer and Gijang County's public relations ambassador. The event will include a conversation with the author and a succulent plant experience, providing an opportunity for children and parents to connect together.
Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "I hope this festival serves as an opportunity to reaffirm the values of the environment, family, and happiness, bringing vitality to the lives of all residents. I look forward to a warm festival along the living, breathing Jwagwangcheon Stream, where children can learn and adults can enjoy together."
