On the 14th, during the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee's audit, Minister of Health and Welfare Jung Eun-kyung responded to the request from Lee Sujin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stating, "The Ministry of Health and Welfare must conduct a thorough investigation into Seungeun Medical Foundation and On Nursing Home, both run by Kim Keonhee's family, and fully recover the nursing care benefits." She added, "We will continuously check for any income generation or asset acquisition and proceed with seizure or compulsory execution as necessary."
According to Assemblywoman Lee, the amount determined to be recovered from Seungeun Medical Foundation, an illegally operated medical institution, is 3.27 billion won, but only 226 million won has been collected so far.
The amount determined for recovery due to improper claims at On Nursing Home, which is operated by a family business where Kim Keonhee's brother serves as CEO, also reaches 1.43 billion won, but only 377 million won has been collected to date. It was confirmed that this nursing home not only provided inadequate meals but also subjected residents to physical abuse.
Assemblywoman Lee emphasized, "Since there are connections to illegal medical institutions at the core of the administration, how could the Ministry of Health and Welfare's inspections have been properly conducted?" She stressed, "The outstanding amounts must be collected in full."
