Special Lecture by Lee Woongjong, the Original "Dog President"
The Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation in North Gyeongsang Province will host the '1st Yeongdeok Meongmeong Trekking' event at Byeolparang Park in Yeongdeok County on October 26, 2025, offering an opportunity to enjoy the autumn season with companion animals.
This event, targeting the 14 million pet owners nationwide, is part of the 'Blue Road Companion Dog Trekking Program,' which aims to promote dog-friendly tourism in Yeongdeok.
Back in August, a program received a great response in which tourists visiting Yeongdeok with their dogs could take certification photos at Blue Road attractions and complete local dining missions to receive Yeongdeok Love Gift Certificates, thereby supporting their travel expenses.
The upcoming '1st Yeongdeok Meongmeong Trekking' stands out with enhanced content compared to the August event. The 10,000 won participation fee will be fully refunded in the form of Yeongdeok Love Gift Certificates. The main program includes a special lecture and behavioral correction coaching for dogs by Professor Lee Woongjong, known as the original 'Dog President' and a cast member of the TV show 'Dogs Are Incredible.'
In addition, a variety of programs will be offered to create special memories, such as a treasure hunt event for good luck along the Byeolparang Trail with dogs, a mini agility sports meet where participants run and overcome obstacles with their dogs, a workshop to create one-of-a-kind dog necklaces, dog caricature drawing, and dog tarot experiences.
On-site, participants can also receive health consultations and hygiene grooming services for their dogs, as well as shop at various booths selling pet supplies and treats.
A foundation representative said, "We hope that many people will build lasting memories while enjoying Yeongdeok's beautiful autumn with their companion animals through the '1st Yeongdeok Meongmeong Trekking' event. We also look forward to this event helping Yeongdeok become widely recognized as a pet-friendly tourism destination."
Registration for the '1st Yeongdeok Meongmeong Trekking' is open on the foundation's website until October 25, 2025, and will be limited to the first 100 teams on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information about the event, please visit the foundation's website or contact the Culture and Tourism Team.
