Nau Robotics Honored with Seoul Mayor’s Award at Seoul AI Robot Show

Nau Robotics, a robotics specialist company led by CEO Lee Jongju, announced on October 14 that it was awarded the 2025 Citizen Innovation Award, the Seoul Mayor’s Award in the robotics show category, at the Seoul AI Robot Show held at COEX in Seoul.

This award is presented based on evaluations by both citizens and experts who attended the Seoul AI Robot Show, which is directly hosted and organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Out of 330 companies from 130 cities across 71 countries, Nau Robotics was the only company selected in the robotics field.

Nau Robotics participated in the "2025 Seoul AI Robot Show," which took place at COEX in Seoul from September 30 to October 2, and introduced a citizen-participation robot experience program, as well as its precision control-based multi-joint robots and new multi-gripper technology. The exhibition attracted over 60,000 participants over three days.

The Seoul AI Robot Show, held for the first time this year, is a convergence exhibition of robotics technology and culture under the theme "Extreme Robots," co-hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Business Agency (SBA). At this exhibition, Nau Robotics operated the "Threading a Needle" program, a challenging hands-on experience where citizens directly competed with the company's NURO X Series multi-joint robots.

This experience involved a live demonstration in which participants used precision servo control technology and the multi-gripper (NAU ELE Gripper) to thread a needle with a 0.5mm eye. Through this demonstration, participants could directly experience both the precision of industrial robots and the versatility of the multi-gripper (NAU ELE Gripper) in handling various shapes. Citizens who succeeded in the challenge received a sewing kit as a prize.

The multi-gripper (NAU ELE Gripper) is designed to mimic the movement of an elephant’s trunk, overcoming the limitations of conventional grippers that could only grasp a single product. This innovative gripper enables robots to handle a wide range of objects, from heavy dumbbells to small, delicate needles, using a single tool (end-effector).

The NURO X Series by Nau Robotics is a six-axis multi-joint robot capable of automating complex processes such as assembly, transfer, inspection, and welding. With its high-speed and high-precision control technology, it provides automation solutions for industrial sites.

Additionally, in August, Nau Robotics applied AI-based image analysis technology to the NURO X Series and showcased it to approximately 5,800 participants at the 2025 APEC Korea SOM3 Integrated Exhibition in Incheon, an international event.

The needle-threading demonstration presented at this exhibition drew attention as an example of industrial robots going beyond simple repetitive tasks to perform operations requiring sensitivity and delicacy. It provided citizens with an intuitive experience of the evolving applications of robotics technology.

Nau Robotics is a rapidly growing domestic robotics specialist in the fields of industrial automation and autonomous logistics robots. The company offers a total robotics solution, including the NURO Cartesian robot, NURO X multi-joint robot, NUCA SCARA robot, and NUGO autonomous logistics robot, as well as other industrial and autonomous logistics robots.

Since its listing on KOSDAQ in May, Nau Robotics has been advancing its production infrastructure to build a second factory and respond to large-scale projects. Recently, the company has also expanded its business scope to include the development of ultra-large multi-joint robots, hybrid collaborative robots, and industrial humanoid robots.

Lee Jongju, CEO of Nau Robotics, stated, "This year’s Seoul AI Robot Show was a highly symbolic event where robotics technology met everyday life. We will continue to introduce robotics technologies that citizens can truly experience and grow into a leading global robotics company representing Korea."
