Jungwoo Ecotile Signs 7.8 Billion Won Investment Agreement, Creating 33 New Jobs
Nonsan Advances as an Industrial City Centered on Opportunity Development Zones
Baek Sunghyun, Mayor of Nonsan, has continued to transform the region’s industrial landscape by attracting investments totaling 680 billion won since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration.
The city has further solidified its status as a “business-friendly city” by signing a 7.8 billion won investment agreement with Jungwoo Ecotile Co., Ltd., a company specializing in eco-friendly construction materials, which will create 33 new jobs.
According to the city on October 14, Jungwoo Ecotile Co., Ltd. participated in an investment agreement ceremony held at the South Chungcheong Provincial Government Office on October 13. Under the agreement, the company will invest a total of 7.8 billion won-including 800 million won for site acquisition and 7 billion won for equipment-on a 20,000 square meter site in Chaewon-myeon, Nonsan, to build a factory for eco-friendly construction materials by 2026. This investment is also expected to create 33 new jobs.
Jungwoo Ecotile Co., Ltd. is a newly established company specializing in eco-friendly construction materials, founded in November 2024. In line with stricter environmental regulations and the growing emphasis on ESG, the company is focusing on producing environmentally friendly interior and exterior materials. With this investment, Nonsan is expected to establish itself as a hub city for eco-friendly construction materials in the central region.
This investment achievement is considered a representative outcome of Mayor Baek Sunghyun’s “business-attraction-centered economic administration,” which has been a key initiative since the beginning of the 8th popularly elected administration.
Mayor Baek has consistently promoted his philosophy that “when businesses grow, citizens are happy,” and has steadily pursued the expansion of industrial park infrastructure, the designation of special opportunity development zones, the extension of tax benefits, and innovation in business support administration.
As a result, the city has achieved a total of 679.4 billion won in investment attraction since the start of the 8th popularly elected administration.
Major achievements include: ▲ designation of a 660,000 square meter special opportunity development zone ▲ establishment of an industrial belt centered on Nonsan, Chaewon, and Yeonmu industrial complexes ▲ attraction of advanced companies in semiconductors, biotechnology, and food processing ▲ creation of 2,000 youth jobs ▲ development of a smart transportation network and the Tapjeong Lake tourism belt.
Mayor Baek stated, “Nonsan has already emerged as a city full of opportunities for investment and growth. We will create an environment where companies can invest with confidence and deliver economic growth that citizens can truly experience.”
