Protecting Patients' Golden Hour
Enhancing Safety and Improving Medical Efficiency
Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced on October 14 that it has supplied the artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart bed monitoring system 'thynC' to Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital. ThynC is a product developed by the wearable AI diagnostic monitoring company Seers Technology, and Daewoong Pharmaceutical is responsible for its domestic distribution and sales.
This implementation represents a large-scale deployment, covering all 359 beds, including those in the intensive care unit. Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital has become the hospital with the largest number of beds equipped with 'thynC' in the Gyeonggi region, establishing itself as a leading example in the spread of AI smart bed monitoring systems.
ThynC attaches a wearable sensor to the patient to collect key vital signs such as heart rate, respiration, and body temperature in real time, and immediately detects abnormal signals to alert medical staff. It is also the only system equipped with a fall detection alarm, enabling the hospital to secure the golden hour and prevent unexpected accidents by providing real-time alerts when patient falls occur, especially during late-night hours when it is difficult for staff to monitor patients. Through this, patients can recover in a stable treatment environment 24 hours a day, while caregivers can entrust their loved ones with peace of mind and experience reduced caregiving burdens.
By automating repetitive work such as measuring vital signs, the system also helps alleviate the workload of medical staff. The hospital aims to use this to create an environment where medical staff can focus on communication with patients and personalized nursing care, ultimately enhancing the quality of medical services.
Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital plans to take a further leap forward with this smart ward implementation, realizing patient-centered future medicine and setting a symbolic milestone by presenting a new standard of 'smart healthcare' to the local community.
Hwang Jungyeon, Director of Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital, stated, "The introduction of thynC is a turning point that simultaneously enhances patient safety and staff efficiency, creating a patient-centered treatment environment. Through the establishment of this smart ward, we will provide a safe treatment environment for patients and caregivers and a setting where medical staff can focus on their expertise, thereby further enhancing the hospital's competitiveness and setting a new standard for healthcare in southern Gyeonggi."
Yoo Changdeuk, Head of the ETC Hospital Division at Daewoong Pharmaceutical, said, "Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital, a central medical institution in southern Gyeonggi, has set an exemplary case for smart hospital transformation through the adoption of thynC. Daewoong Pharmaceutical will work with Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital to raise the level of regional healthcare and further advance our digital healthcare capabilities to lead the future paradigm of medicine."
.
Meanwhile, Pyeongtaek St. Mary's Hospital is a leading general hospital in southern Gyeonggi, offering a wide range of departments including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics, as well as specialized centers such as the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular center, spine and joint center, artificial kidney center, and robotic surgery center. As an emergency medical institution, it maintains a 24/7 patient care system year-round, serving as a reliable safety net for the local community.
