Axion Group Accelerates Robotics and AI-Based Growth Following Merger

KOSDAQ-listed Axion Group announced on October 14 that following its merger with MJ TECH, the company has successfully secured new growth engines by moving beyond its previous e-commerce-focused business structure to include construction, manufacturing, and robotics, resulting in smooth business operations.

MJ TECH, a primary vendor for major domestic conglomerates, has secured stable order performance and, through its predictable revenue structure, has strengthened the overall group's financial stability and growth foundation. With this merger, Axion Group is now being recognized for completing a convergence-based growth platform that integrates construction, manufacturing, and technology.

Last year, the company established a robotics automation division and began full-scale entry into the automation equipment market by adopting the technology of ABB Robotics, the global leader in industrial robotics. Even after the merger, CEO Jeong Jaeyoung has been strongly driving the expansion of global business based on robotics and AI.

On October 8, SoftBank Group announced that it had signed a contract to acquire the robotics division of Swiss conglomerate ABB, with the acquisition valued at approximately 7.6 trillion won. The acquisition process is expected to be completed in the second half of next year.

As a result, Axion Group, an official System Integrator (SI) partner of ABB Robotics, is expected to directly benefit from technological synergies and the expansion of the global supply chain, with the potential to secure global orders as well.

Axion Group plans to leverage this change as a turning point for advancement in the AI robotics industry, accelerating automation innovation across the construction, manufacturing, and plant sectors. By combining ABB’s robotics automation technology with super artificial intelligence (AI), the company aims to drive innovation in smart construction and industrial automation, applying AI-based robotics solutions for robot control, piping systems, and plant automation to maximize efficiency at industrial sites and lead technological transformation across domestic and international industries.

Previously, Axion Group restructured its business to focus on high-growth potential sectors such as industrial robotics and advanced piping system construction in order to improve its financial structure. This marks a transition from a short-term revenue-driven business to a sustainable, industry infrastructure and technology-based business model.

A company representative stated, "The value of our company, which has been undervalued until now, will be newly recognized through these new business initiatives," adding, "We will secure a competitive edge in the global market through smart industry innovation that combines robotics, AI, and construction."
