This year's event was organized under the theme, "Citizens Take Center Stage! A Shining Awards Ceremony and Autumn Picnic." Although it was originally scheduled to be held outdoors on the lawn, the venue was urgently moved indoors for the safety and convenience of citizens due to the weather forecast. Despite the change in location, the program was maintained so that citizens could actively participate and become the main characters, creating a festival of unity and togetherness.

The ceremony began with a dynamic performance by the Uijeongbu City Taekwondo Demonstration Team. This was followed by the screening of a video titled "The History and Transformation of Uijeongbu," produced by the Uijeongbu-born YouTuber 'Restoration King,' and a stage performance by the Uijeongbu City Choir, further enriching the significance of Citizens' Day.

In particular, the reading of the "Citizen Charter" by a three-generation family living in Uijeongbu and Vice Chairwoman Kwon Anna of the Uijeongbu City Council was met with great applause, serving as a symbolic moment of intergenerational unity among citizens.

During the subsequent "Special Performance with Citizens," Mayor Kim Donggeun and other dignitaries took the stage with placards reading, "Uijeongbu, the City We Will Love Even More, You Are the Main Characters," joining citizens to present a united front. This moment was broadcast live on a large screen, filling the venue with emotion.

This year's awards ceremony, titled the "Shining Awards Ceremony," expressed gratitude and respect to citizens who have contributed to the development of Uijeongbu, making it a meaningful occasion where all citizens could feel a sense of pride.

The congratulatory performances featured artists who are all Uijeongbu citizens, demonstrating that the citizens are the true protagonists. Uijeongbu's promotional ambassador and world-renowned B-boy team Fusion MC, local a cappella group Janis, and musical actor Shin Myeonggeun, who is also a Uijeongbu citizen, delivered passionate performances, further heating up the festive atmosphere of Citizens' Day.

Throughout the venue, a variety of citizen-participation programs were held, including a flea market and experience zones, diverse food booths, and the "Uiquiz On the Block" event, making it a festival that everyone, regardless of age or gender, could enjoy.

Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "Uijeongbu Citizens' Day, which was established in 1971 after Uijeongbu was elevated to city status in 1963, is a meaningful day for us to celebrate our pride in Uijeongbu together. I extend my deepest gratitude to all citizens who have devoted themselves in their respective roles," adding, "Although we could not gather outdoors due to the rain, by utilizing the open spaces of City Hall, such as the 'All-People Sports Ground' and the 'Citizen Gallery,' together with citizens, we embodied the concept of an 'open Uijeongbu,' where citizens are the true owners, anytime and anywhere."
