This was Xander Schauffele's winning move. On October 12, at Yokohama Country Club (par 71, 7,315 yards) in Yokohama, Japan, he clinched a one-shot victory at the Baker Rent Classic on the PGA Tour (total prize money: 8 million dollars). This marked his 10th career win on the PGA Tour in his 200th appearance. Schauffele added another trophy to his collection about a year and three months after winning last year's major tournaments, the PGA Championship and The Open Championship.

Having struggled this year without a win, Schauffele put the old putter that had brought him two major victories back into his caddie bag. He used the Odyssey Toulon Design Las Vegas Prototype 7CH.

His decision paid off handsomely, especially on the final day of the tournament. Displaying a magical touch with his putter, he made eight birdies (with just one bogey). On the 14th hole (par 4) of the fourth round, Schauffele sank a birdie putt from about seven meters to take the lead, and on the 17th hole (par 4), he holed a four-meter birdie to widen his lead over Max Greyserman (USA) to two strokes, effectively sealing the win.

Throughout the four days of the tournament, Schauffele showcased outstanding putting ability. He averaged 1.67 putts per green in regulation, ranking tied for 17th among the 78 players in the field.
