"Spreading a Companion Animal-Friendly Culture"
Iksan City in North Jeolla Province will host the "2025 Iksan Companion Animal Culture Festival and the 19th Iksan FCI International Dog Show" at the Mohyeon Park lawn field on October 18 and 19.

According to the city on October 13, this festival has been organized to foster a companion animal-friendly culture and to promote the local companion animal industry. The event is hosted by the Korea Kennel Federation.
Beginning with the opening ceremony at 11 a.m. on October 18, the two-day event will feature a variety of programs, educational sessions, campaigns, hands-on experiences, exhibitions, and sales, all designed for participants and their pets. The event will be held in conjunction with the Iksan FCI International Dog Show, promising a rich array of attractions.
Main programs include a running competition, an amateur agility contest, a talent show, and "dog disc," where participants and their dogs perform coordinated routines to music while throwing a disc.
In addition, the festival will promote a companion animal-friendly culture through dog sports training demonstrations, pet etiquette lectures, consultations on behavioral issues and health check-ups for pets, as well as campaigns for the protection and adoption of abandoned animals.
On-site activities will include pet grooming, making dalgona snacks shaped like dogs, crafting air fresheners, and creating identification tags. There will also be booths exhibiting and selling a variety of pet products such as food, treats, clothing, insurance, and funeral supplies, ensuring a diverse range of experiences for attendees.
A city official stated, "Celebrating its 19th year, the Iksan FCI International Dog Show has established itself as a festival enjoyed by both citizens and their companion animals. We will continue our efforts to further spread a companion animal-friendly culture where people and animals coexist happily."
Meanwhile, the city is continuously expanding its animal industry infrastructure, including a zoonosis research institute, an efficacy and safety evaluation center for veterinary pharmaceuticals, and pilot production support facilities, solidifying its position as a hub city for the veterinary pharmaceutical industry.
