On the 13th, the city announced that it held the completion ceremony for the "Disabled Connection Center" located at 110-7 Haan-dong and has officially begun its operations.

The center is a dedicated multi-purpose cultural and sports facility for people with disabilities, created by remodeling the former recycling center. It consists of one basement floor and three above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 1,341 square meters. The city invested over 3 billion won over nine months, starting from January, to carry out a full-scale remodeling project.

During the remodeling process, the city especially enhanced insulation, installed high-performance windows, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, and LED lighting to improve the building's energy efficiency. Additionally, new heat exchangers and dehumidifiers were installed to create a comfortable indoor environment.

The center features a multipurpose auditorium and an indoor screen park golf course on the basement floor. On the first floor, there is "Jangae Eoreusin Schwimaru," a lounge and program room for elderly people with disabilities. The second floor houses a fitness room for people with disabilities, a program room, and the office of the Traffic Disabled Association. The third floor contains an IT education room and the office of the Disabled Informatization Association.

The city plans to operate customized programs for people with disabilities at the center, including sports activities, crafts, horticulture, and smartphone education, to help alleviate social isolation and support their independence.

Gwangmyeong Mayor Park Seungwon stated, "We will continue to provide support so that people with disabilities can enjoy their rights to cultural and sports activities through the center."
