Gong Myung, ambassador for World Vision (President Cho Myunghwan), spent a heartwarming time with about 40 children at a child care facility in Bongcheon-dong, Seoul, on September 4, 2025, in celebration of the Chuseok holiday. This volunteer activity was an extension of the 50 million won donation that Ambassador Gong made to the facility through World Vision in September. The donation was used to purchase gifts for the children, based on a prior survey of their wishes, and to remodel the rooftop, previously lacking as a rest area, into a comfortable "shelter" where the children can relax.

Despite his busy filming schedule, Ambassador Gong personally made time to participate in the volunteer work with the children. On the day of the visit, he made a surprise appearance, greeted the children, spent time getting closer through conversation, and created joyful memories by joining them in recreational mini-games and a one-day songpyeon-making class. More than just a simple visit, he gave the children a warm holiday memory through sincere communication and sharing. Ambassador Gong said, "I came to make good memories for the children for Chuseok, but in the end, I feel like I was the one who received unforgettable memories. It was truly a happy time."

▲Korea Food for the Hungry International Launches '2025 Warm Hope Box Campaign'... Aiming to Support 40,000 Households Nationwide

Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International (President Choi Changnam) announced on the 13th that it will launch the "2025 Warm Hope Box Campaign" to support at-risk families in local communities ahead of the year-end and New Year holidays.

The "Warm Hope Box Campaign" is Korea Food for the Hungry International's flagship sharing project, now in its fifth year. Under a matching grant system, when a sponsor donates 50,000 won, Korea Food for the Hungry International adds goods of the same value, creating a kit worth a total of 100,000 won. The hope boxes, prepared with the help of local communities, companies, and individual sponsors, contain daily necessities such as food and hygiene products and are distributed to at-risk families in the community. This year's campaign aims to deliver a total of 40,000 boxes and will run for about five months, from Thanksgiving through Christmas and Lunar New Year. Up to last year, the campaign had supported 116,714 households both domestically and internationally. Sponsors wishing to participate can do so through the Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International website.

Choi Changnam, President of Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International, said, "There are still vulnerable groups in our society who struggle to meet even their basic needs," and added, "I hope this Hope Box Campaign will go beyond simply providing goods and serve as a warm bridge that alleviates social isolation and connects communities."

▲Hope Bridge Successfully Concludes 'Infectious Disease Prevention and Disinfection Support Project'

Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (President Lim Chaecheong) announced on the 13th that it has successfully concluded the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Disinfection Support Project," which was implemented to prevent infectious diseases among disaster-vulnerable groups.

This project was carried out for about one year, starting in June of last year. It was initiated to improve the hygiene environment of infectious disease-vulnerable groups, such as social welfare facilities and low-income households nationwide, and to strengthen the local community's infectious disease response system in the wake of COVID-19.

The following institutions participated in the project: Gangneung Welfare Center for the Disabled, Jinsan Nursing Home, Jeonju Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Hanchang Vocational Facility for the Disabled, and Kumho Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. They carried out disinfection support projects worth a total of approximately 800 million won. Each institution conducted disinfection and environmental improvement activities tailored to the characteristics of their communities and the circumstances of their beneficiaries, striving to create a safe living environment free from infectious diseases.

Each institution carried out projects such as disinfection and pest control support for living spaces, improvement of hygiene environments in welfare facilities, cleaning support for housing-vulnerable households, and hygiene management education and supply distribution.

In particular, Kumho Comprehensive Social Welfare Center provided "visiting disinfection welfare services" for low-income single-person and elderly households in the community. Noh Dongmun, director of the center, said, "This project was not just about providing disinfection support, but was a process of establishing a foundation for local residents to respond to infectious diseases together. Thanks to Hope Bridge's support, vulnerable groups were able to live in a much safer environment."

Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, "Infectious disease prevention is the first step in disaster response and a crucial activity for maintaining the social safety net. We will continue to work with various institutions to ensure that disaster-vulnerable groups are not left behind during infectious disease crises."
