Jasco Holdings announced on October 13 that it is responding swiftly to recovery efforts at the Second Port in Valencia, an area affected by Typhoon Matmo.

On October 2, Typhoon Matmo, the 21st typhoon of the year, struck the Philippines, causing widespread damage. This was the fourth typhoon in a month, following Typhoon Mitag (No. 17), Typhoon Ragasa (No. 18), and Typhoon Bualoi (No. 20). In particular, as this typhoon passed through the Valencia region of Dinagat Island, parts of Jasco Holdings' Second Port were lost due to strong winds, heavy rain, and high waves.

Jasco Holdings immediately deployed a local recovery team, primarily composed of employees and executives who were already on site for scheduled shipments, right after the typhoon damage occurred. The company is quickly inspecting shipping docks and equipment, and restoring unloading facilities. Jasco Holdings aims to complete the recovery work as soon as possible and resume the first shipment within October.

Jasco Holdings holds exclusive rights to sell nickel ore in zones B, C, and D of the Dinagat region in the Philippines, targeting annual nickel ore mining of approximately 6.3 million to 8.5 million tons. Having completed the establishment of local mining and export infrastructure, the company plans to build a battery value chain and become a key supplier in the global strategic minerals market by constructing a refinery in the Philippines in the future.

A company representative stated, "Although the originally scheduled shipments have been inevitably delayed due to unexpected natural disasters, the company is responding quickly," adding, "This delay is only a temporary variable and will not have a significant impact on the overall business schedule."

The representative continued, "As soon as the recovery is complete, we will begin the first shipment, achieving the first successful case of overseas nickel ore development and export by a Korean company. Having experienced various variables due to this typhoon, we expect to further strengthen our risk response capabilities and establish a more stable foundation for future business operations."
