Chungnam Province Invites Private Developers for Anmyeondo Tourism District 2, Accelerates Foreign Investment Attraction Chungnam Provincial Government Office Exterior View

Chungnam Province has shifted the development of "Kkotji District 2," the core of the Anmyeondo tourism project, to a private investment model and has begun full-scale efforts to attract investment. The province aims to transform Anmyeondo into a year-round stay-type tourist destination by establishing complex, experiential tourism facilities that reflect the latest tourism trends.

On October 12, the province announced that it would publicly recruit private investors for 90 days, from October 13 of this year to January 13 of next year, to promote the development of Anmyeondo Tourism Site (Kkotji District) 2 through a private investment model.

The target site for this open call is a 69,146-square-meter area located at 765-66 Jungjang-ri, Anmyeon-eup, Taean-gun. The land is currently home to the Narakium Policy Training Institute, which is being built and operated by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Although the area was originally planned for a training institute and commercial facilities, the province has decided to shift the development focus-excluding accommodations-to family-oriented, experiential tourism facilities.

Notably, under the "Foreign Investment Promotion Act," only corporations or companies established in Korea that can secure a foreign investment ratio of 30% or more are eligible to participate in this project. This opens the possibility for the creation of integrated tourism facilities utilizing global capital.

Letters of intent will be accepted from the announcement date until November 13. Only companies that submit a letter of intent during this period will be eligible to submit a project proposal.

The province will comprehensively evaluate project execution capabilities and the feasibility of the plans to select a preferred negotiation partner. The province will then proceed with signing a project agreement and a land sales contract to begin full-scale development.

Through this project, the province plans to establish: ▲ family-oriented tourism content, ▲ year-round experiential spaces, and ▲ functionally integrated complex cultural facilities, with the goal of revitalizing the local economy and generating new tourism demand.

So Myungsoo, Director of Balanced Development for the province, stated, "Districts 3 and 4 have already received proposals for the construction of international-level golf courses and large-scale hotels and condominiums, and the necessary procedures are underway. If an integrated tourism model is presented through this open call for District 2, Anmyeondo will be able to make a leap forward as Korea's leading marine and leisure tourism destination."
