Firefighters are inspecting the debris of a house collapsed due to a fire. Provided by Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters
At around 3:42 a.m. on October 12, a fire broke out at a single-family house in Irun-myeon, Geoje City, South Gyeongsang Province, which is believed to have been caused by a gas explosion.
The fire was completely extinguished by the fire authorities who responded to the scene at approximately 4:13 a.m., but as a result of the fire, the house was completely destroyed.
Additionally, a male resident in his 60s suffered second- to third-degree burns over his entire body and was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
A total of 35 firefighters and 14 pieces of equipment were deployed to the scene.
The police and fire authorities plan to conduct a joint investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, the ignition point, and the extent of property damage.
