Attendance at G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting
IMF-WBG Annual Meetings and More
Bank of Korea Governor Lee Changyong will depart for Washington, D.C. on October 13 to attend the 'G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting' and the 'International Monetary Fund (IMF)-World Bank Group (WBG) Annual Meetings.'
Governor Lee will participate in the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, where he will exchange views with finance ministers, central bank governors, and officials from international financial institutions on the global economic situation, financial stability, and the international financial system. At the subsequent IMF Annual Meetings, he plans to review the global economic outlook and the current state of global financial stability, and to discuss global policy issues.
Governor Lee is also scheduled to meet with senior officials from major central banks, including the U.S. Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank, as well as the IMF, to exchange views on recent international developments.
Meanwhile, Monetary Policy Board member Lee Soohyeong will use the occasion to discuss monetary policy, stablecoins, and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) with female central bank governors and monetary policy committee members from advanced economies, as well as with the Vice President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and senior officials from the IMF.
