242 Systems Restored After NIRS Fire... Recovery Rate at 34.1%

As of 6:00 p.m. on October 11, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters announced that 242 out of 709 administrative information systems suspended due to the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) have been restored. The system recovery rate stands at 34.1%.

On this day, four systems were restored in the afternoon: the Ministry of Education Domain Name System (DNS), three health classification systems and the next-generation census system of the National Data Office, all classified as Grade 3 administrative information systems, as well as one Grade 4 system, the Board of Audit and Inspection’s audit data analysis system.


Among the most critical Grade 1 systems, 30 out of 40 have been restored, resulting in a recovery rate of 75%. For Grade 2, 32 out of 68 systems (47.1%) have been restored, while 104 out of 261 Grade 3 systems (39.8%) and 76 out of 340 Grade 4 systems (22.4%) are now operational.


The government classifies information systems into four grades based on their importance and impact. In the current recovery efforts, the highest priority has been placed on the rapid restoration of Grade 1 and Grade 2 systems.
