Damyang County in South Jeolla Province announced on October 11 that it recently held an "Open Meeting Between Village Chiefs and the County Governor" at the Damyang-eup Office, attended by County Governor Jeong Cheolwon and about 60 village chiefs from Damyang-eup.
This meeting was organized to share local issues, explain key county initiatives, and discuss strategies for regional development. During the event, County Governor Jeong Cheolwon shared updates on the progress of recovery efforts following heavy rains, and requested active cooperation on local issues such as preventing safety accidents among farmers during the busy farming season and preparations for the "Senior Citizens' Day" event in November.
Starting with this meeting in Damyang-eup, the county plans to continue holding "Open Meetings Between Village Chiefs and the County Governor" every two weeks, rotating through the 11 townships. Through these meetings, the county aims to strengthen direct communication between the governor and village chiefs, and to continuously identify and implement policies closely related to the daily lives of residents.
Governor Jeong emphasized, "The voices from the field must set the direction of county administration," adding, "I will actively incorporate the opinions of the village chiefs to create policies that all residents can truly feel."
