White House Criticizes Nobel Committee for "Prioritizing Politics Over Peace" After Trump Misses Peace Prize

White House Criticizes Nobel Committee for "Prioritizing Politics Over Peace" After Trump Misses Peace Prize Yonhap News Agency

The White House strongly protested after President Donald Trump did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize, stating that "the Nobel Committee prioritized politics over peace."

On October 10 (local time), White House Communications Director Steven Cheung wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "President Trump is a humanitarian, and it will be difficult to see someone like him again who can move mountains through the sheer force of will."

He went on to emphasize, "President Trump will continue to broker peace agreements, end wars, and save lives."

Meanwhile, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced on the same day that Maria Corina Machado, a 58-year-old opposition leader from Venezuela, was selected as this year's Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

President Trump and his supporters have argued that he deserves the Peace Prize, citing his achievements in mediating various international conflicts since the launch of his second administration on January 20. However, he ultimately did not receive the award.
