Jeonju to Hold Special Concert Praying for Hosting the Summer Olympics on the 17th

The Jeonju City Symphony Orchestra, led by Artistic Director and Conductor Sung Kisun, will hold a special concert titled "The Road to Glory: Jeonju," praying for the hosting of the Summer Olympics, at 7:30 p.m. on October 17 at the Samsung Culture Center of Jeonbuk National University.

According to the city on October 10, this performance will be an open stage, free of charge for all citizens. The Jeonju City Choir and Gunsan City Choir will join the stage, presenting a grand harmony and creating a stage of unity that brings the community together as one.


In addition, leading Korean artists such as soprano Kim Sunyoung, trumpeter Sung Jaechang, and pianist Seo Hyeongmin will perform as guest soloists, adding prestige to the concert.


Specifically, the program will feature spectacular masterpieces that embody the Olympic spirit and inspiration, including John Williams' "Olympic Fanfare," Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," the triumphal march from Verdi's opera "Aida," and the fourth movement "Choral" from Beethoven's Symphony No. 9.


In particular, the concert is expected to deliver a special resonance to the audience through its diverse program, which combines symphony, choir, and solo performances.


No Eunyoung, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the city, stated, "This concert is a meaningful occasion that unites the hearts of Jeonju citizens in support of hosting the Olympics. I hope that many citizens will join and share the aspiration for the Olympics through music."
