The Kremlin has announced its support for U.S. President Donald Trump receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to Yonhap News and other foreign media outlets on October 10, Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's foreign policy advisor, stated in an interview released on the Telegram channel of Kremlin correspondent Aleksandr Yunashov, "In my opinion, yes. If we were asked such a question, we would have supported that decision."
The Nobel Peace Prize is scheduled to be announced on this day. The Norwegian Nobel Committee previously stated on October 6 that it had finalized this year's Nobel Peace Prize laureate. President Trump, who has been involved in resolving various conflicts such as the war in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip crisis, has consistently expressed a strong desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Advisor Ushakov also criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his comment that "if the United States provides Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, I will nominate President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize," saying, "I was surprised by his foolish idea."
He added, "This is the notion of awarding a peace prize in exchange for providing weapons," and pointed out, "How a person thinks reveals their true nature."
