Accordingly, the city will strengthen its comprehensive child safety response system, focusing on joint campaigns in each town and district.

The purpose of these special measures is to alleviate public anxiety caused by a series of child abduction and luring incidents occurring nationwide. The city aims to prevent crimes in advance through community-based preventive activities and to raise safety awareness among students and citizens.

To this end, the period from October 13 to 31 has been designated as a special guidance period, during which the city will launch full-scale child safety awareness campaigns for school routes in each town and district.

The campaign will be carried out at each elementary school in the area, and on-site road checks will be conducted around schools to identify and address potential hazards. In particular, before the campaign begins, meetings will be held with town and district heads, local police station chiefs, and school principals to develop region-specific response strategies.

The campaign will involve public institutions such as local police stations and elementary schools, as well as various social organizations. The city plans to strengthen the practical child safety network by inspecting hazardous facilities near schools and identifying and improving pedestrian and traffic safety infrastructure.

In addition, the city will expand crime prevention education for students and parents, enhance the monitoring of security CCTV near elementary schools, and increase voluntary patrols after school hours to establish a safety system with no blind spots. The city also plans to implement institutional measures such as considering the designation of child protection zones in areas vulnerable to child crime.

Furthermore, even after the special guidance period ends, the city will continue the campaign to raise community awareness and engagement.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "Through campaigns in each town and district, we will foster an atmosphere in which the entire community participates in child safety," adding, "Namyangju City will do its utmost to implement comprehensive measures encompassing prevention, education, and facility improvements so that children can travel to and from school with peace of mind."
