The 3rd Masan Hapseong-dong Youth Street Beer Festival
to Be Held on October 18
Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that the '3rd Masan Hapseong-dong Youth Street Beer Festival' will be held on October 18 at Hapseong Old Street and the Hapseong-dong Underground Shopping Center in Masan Hapseong-dong.
This festival is a citizen-participatory local commercial district event promoted as part of the '2025 Traditional Market Festival Support Project.' It is jointly organized by the Hapseong-dong Commercial District Revitalization Council, which was formed by four merchant associations: Hapseong Boulevard Shopping Center, Hapseong-dong Shopping Center, Hapseong Old Street Market, and Hapseong-dong Underground Shopping Center (Daehyeon Free Mall Changwon Branch). The event is supported by budgets from both South Gyeongsang Province and Changwon City.
The first part of the festival will kick off at 2:00 p.m. on the 18th at Daehyeon Free Mall Changwon Branch, located in the Hapseong-dong Underground Shopping Center. The program will feature a multicultural food bazaar, free beer tasting, a lucky prize roulette, and a lively recreation time with an MC, offering a variety of activities that the whole family can enjoy together.
The second part of the festival will officially begin at 6:30 p.m. Starting with an opening ceremony and a celebratory toast attended by Changwon City officials and other guests, the event will feature citizen-participatory activities such as 'Beer Chugging Contest,' 'Beer Can Stacking,' 'Beer Snack Live Auction,' 'Challenge! Instant Karaoke,' and 'Random Dance Play,' further heating up the festival atmosphere.
Stage performances will include female trot singer Min Young-a, the real performance group Baek Pro, Shin Nara from Tomorrow is Miss Trot, and 'A Night of Youth with a Drink,' a DJ event that will create a romantic autumn night of youth together with citizens.
The 'Masan Hapseong-dong Youth Street Beer Festival' was first held in 2019 but was suspended for a period due to COVID-19. It resumed with the second edition in 2024 and, now in its third year, is establishing itself as a leading citizen-participatory festival aimed at revitalizing the local commercial district.
Lee Jeonggi, chairman of the Hapseong-dong Commercial District Revitalization Council, said, "We have prepared this event with great care so that everyone can enjoy the unique atmosphere of Hapseong-dong with a refreshing glass of beer and a youthful spirit. I hope many citizens will come to feel the warmth of the Hapseong-dong alleys and help restore vitality to our local commercial district."
