"One-Stop Support for K-Fashion Brands Entering Japan"
"Goal to Launch 1,500 K-Fashion Brands in Japan by Year-End"
Musinsa announced on the 10th that it will officially open the "Musinsa Shop" on Japan's fashion e-commerce platform Zozotown on November 6.
In December last year, Musinsa signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ZOZO, the company that operates Zozotown. Through this partnership, Musinsa is now able to support the entry of Korean fashion brands into the Japanese market.
As a result, partner brands from the Musinsa Store will be able to sell their products on Zozotown. This is especially expected to help small brands that have found it difficult to enter overseas platforms due to the absence of a local corporation or the burden of large-scale investment required for expansion into Japan. If a brand delivers its products to a domestic logistics center, Musinsa will handle the procedures for international shipping, customs clearance, and local delivery on their behalf.
At the time of the opening in early November, Musinsa plans to introduce more than 140 K-fashion brands. By the end of the year, the number of brands selling products on Zozotown is expected to expand to over 1,500.
A Musinsa representative stated, "We expect this will alleviate the burdens faced by domestic small and medium-sized brands when directly entering overseas platforms, such as complicated onboarding procedures, international warehouse shipping costs, and exclusive inventory management. Ultimately, it will provide an opportunity for them to operate on a broader global stage."
