The newly released Namyangju Unhoche font is based on the handwriting of Venerable Unho, a great master of modern and contemporary Buddhist studies. The font modernly reinterprets both his philosophy and the distinctive features of his handwriting. Jointly produced by Namyangju City and the Unho Memorial Foundation, the font is available for anyone to freely download and use from the Namyangju City website starting October 9, Hangeul Day.

The Namyangju Unhoche font faithfully captures the neatness, simplicity, and powerful strokes characteristic of the monk's writing. It is expected to establish itself as a typeface that harmonizes tradition and modernity in the digital age.

The distribution ceremony was held in conjunction with the Bongseonsa Temple Foundation Festival, and was attended by key figures including Deputy Mayor Hong Jiseon, City Council Chairman Cho Seongdae, members of the National Assembly, provincial assembly members, city council members, and approximately 300 citizens.

With this ceremony as a starting point, the city plans to utilize the Namyangju Unhoche font in a variety of fields, including city promotional materials and public facility signboards.

Deputy Mayor Hong Jiseon stated, "It is especially meaningful to release the Namyangju Unhoche font in celebration of Hangeul Day. I am honored that the spirit and handwriting of Venerable Unho have been reborn as a font that can be shared with citizens today. Going forward, we will continue to modernize and promote the value of Namyangju by carrying on the legacy of the region's historical figures and cultural heritage."
