On October 2, Yeoncheon County in Gyeonggi Province held a rice harvesting event in Jangtan-ri, Cheongsan-myeon, organized by the Yeoncheon County Agricultural Association (President Lee Yoonkyu).

The event was attended by about 100 people, including Kim Deokhyun, Governor of Yeoncheon County, Yoon Jongyoung, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, Yeoncheon County Council members, Nonghyup cooperative heads, local farmers, and officials from related agencies. The rice harvesting event was held successfully to pray for a bountiful harvest.
This event, prepared for the full-fledged harvest season, was designed to remind participants of the importance of agriculture and to encourage the hard work of farmers. Kim Deokhyun, Governor of Yeoncheon County, personally entered the rice field and demonstrated rice harvesting by operating a combine harvester. Afterwards, he shared lunch with the farmers, celebrating the fruits of the year’s farming in a meaningful gathering.
Kim Deokhyun, Governor of Yeoncheon County, stated, "I will work together with farmers to nurture hope so that Yeonjin rice, the pride of Korea, can become a representative brand of the region." He added, "I hope this event provides an opportunity for all county residents to find peace of mind and to design a better future together."
