The Pyeongchang Talent Development Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Shim Jaeguk) is launching the third round of scholarship selection for 2025 to improve the educational environment for local students and foster future talent. This round will provide scholarships to a total of 1,020 students, amounting to 1.54 billion won.
This selection includes the following: the Pyeongchang Scholarship, which supports university tuition fees (500 recipients); the Living Expenses Scholarship, which assists with costs necessary to maintain studies such as food, housing, and textbooks (500 recipients); and the Level-Up Scholarship, which provides support for dormitory academy fees for middle and high school students (20 recipients).
In particular, the Living Expenses Scholarship offers 1 million won each semester, totaling 2 million won annually, and can be combined with other scholarships, significantly reducing the financial burden on students and parents. The Level-Up Scholarship covers 70% of dormitory academy tuition during school vacations (up to a maximum of 2 million won) on a reimbursement basis, thereby expanding opportunities for self-directed learning among students in rural areas.
Chairman Shim Jaeguk stated, "The scholarship foundation will serve as a strong support so that everyone can have educational opportunities regardless of their economic circumstances," adding, "We will continue to expand our support so that students can focus on their studies and plan for their future."
The application period runs until October 31. Applications can be submitted in person or by mail to the Pyeongchang Talent Development Scholarship Foundation (located at the Talent Development Office of Pyeongchang County Office) or to the general affairs team at local town offices.
