"Restored Faith in Humanity"... Heartwarming Reactions from Online Users
A self-employed individual shared a touching story about receiving an unexpected gift and a handwritten letter after returning a lost wallet to a customer.
On October 3, a post titled "I returned a lost wallet and received a heartfelt letter and gift" appeared on a self-employed community forum. The author, identified as Mr. A, began by saying, "I've experienced all sorts of things in my nine years of running my own business, but today, for the first time in a while, I truly felt a sense of humanity."

Mr. A explained, "I found a wallet that had been left behind in my store and was searching for contact information when I noticed a business card from a care center inside. I called the center, informed them about the lost wallet, and let them know I was keeping it safe."
Soon after, an elderly man visited the store in person. He expressed his gratitude, saying, "I have been searching for my lost wallet since yesterday. This morning, I even went to the local government office to report my lost ID and apply for a replacement." Along with his thanks, he handed over a handwritten letter and a Swiss roll.
The letter read, "It's not much, but please accept this as a token of my gratitude. I hope you enjoy it, and may you always live a healthy and blessed life. I believe that if you live each day with joy, planning for happiness, every day will be wonderful. I hope you have a great day, as if walking down a path lined with flowers. I wrote these few words out of thankfulness. If there is anything lacking, I hope you will understand. Thank you. Wishing you happiness."
"This is the first time something like this has happened; I feel truly grateful today"
Mr. A added, "I've helped return countless wallets and lost items, but this is the first time something like this has happened, so I feel even more grateful today. If the elderly gentleman visits my store again, I would like to treat him to a drink."
Online commenters responded warmly, saying, "There are still many good people in the world," "Where is this? I want to support your business," "You did a wonderful thing," "Stories like this warm my heart and lift my spirits," and "I hope both of you experience nothing but happiness."
