A Chinese customer was caught engaging in inappropriate behavior such as smoking and spitting while dining at a barbecue restaurant in Gyeonggi Province, sparking outrage among netizens. After the group left, even the toilet in the restroom was found to be damaged.
On October 7, a netizen who identified herself as the daughter of the restaurant owner posted CCTV footage of the incident on Instagram. In the video, one of the female customers is seen sitting at the table, lighting a cigarette and starting to smoke, while the rest of the group also began smoking and lighting each other's cigarettes.
An employee who noticed this asked the customers to stop smoking, but could not communicate with them. After confirming they were Chinese, the employee used a translation app to show them a message saying "Please stop smoking," but it was to no avail. During their approximately three-hour meal, the group not only smoked but also flicked cigarette ash onto the floor and spat on the ground.
The netizen explained, "Yesterday (the 6th), five Chinese customers came to my mother's restaurant. While my mother was washing dishes, she smelled cigarette smoke and went out to the dining area alone, where she found them smoking and spitting on the floor."
She continued, "My mother repeatedly told them not to smoke, but they only said they understood and continued anyway. After they left, when we were cleaning up, we found the floor of the men's restroom soaked with urine, and even the toilet was smashed. It is truly shocking to see something you only hear about in the news actually happen in real life," she lamented.
