The Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Seonghyeon) announced on the 10th that it will host the 'Untan Altitude 1330 Themed Walking Festival (Trail Festival)' Yeongwol Edition on October 18 in the area around Kim Satgat-myeon, Yeongwol County.

This event is a trekking festival that follows the Untan Altitude 1330 Route 2·3, a restored path once used to transport coal. Participants will have the opportunity to experience both the industrial heritage of the abandoned mining area and its transformed natural scenery. The trek begins at 9 a.m. at the Kim Satgat Arirang Market and continues throughout the day. Upon completion, participants can enjoy a variety of performances, traditional experiences, and local food as part of the 28th Kim Satgat Cultural Festival, Yeongwol's signature event.

In particular, a special 'wine foot bath healing experience' at the Yemil Wine Healing Center will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, providing participants with a unique way to relieve fatigue from trekking. Registration is available through Naver Reservation.

'Untan Altitude 1330' is a route created by restoring the old coal transport path, making it a unique trail where the history and nature of Gangwon's abandoned mining areas coexist. Through trekking, participants are given the chance to experience the region's transformation and its beautiful natural landscapes.

The Gangwon Tourism Foundation plans to continue operating programs that link Untan Altitude 1330 with local festivals to create synergistic effects. In celebration of the 2025-2026 Year of Visiting Gangwon, a variety of experiential programs will be offered in conjunction with each region's signature cultural events.

The next event is scheduled to be held on November 1 at the Mountain Square of High1 Resort in Jeongseon, in collaboration with Kangwon Land.

Choi Seonghyeon, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, stated, "Untan Altitude 1330 is an important historical asset of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and a representative trail that offers healing amid beautiful nature. Through this Yeongwol event, we aim to showcase the appeal of Route 2·3 of Untan Altitude 1330 and provide a highly satisfying experience for visitors by linking it with local festivals."
