Requirement Eased from 30 to 15 Stores within 2,000㎡
Applications Accepted for Daebu-dong with at Least 10 Stores
On October 10, the city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will be accepting applications for the designation of 'alley-type shopping districts' targeting major shopping areas within the city until November 28.
Once designated as an alley-type shopping district, consumers will be able to use Onnuri gift certificates, and merchants will be eligible to participate in facility and business modernization projects.
Previously, last month the city revised the 'Ordinance on the Promotion of Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts in Ansan,' easing the criteria for designation. Previously, only areas with at least 30 small business stores within 2,000 square meters were eligible. However, the revised ordinance has relaxed the requirement to a minimum of 15 stores. In particular, in the case of Daebu-dong, considering the characteristics of the area, districts with at least 10 stores can now apply for designation.
The city will comprehensively review the applications to determine whether they meet the regulatory requirements, as well as the characteristics and development potential of the commercial district, before designating them as alley-type shopping districts. Consulting support will also be provided to merchants who wish to apply for designation.
For more details, please refer to the announcement posted in the 'Notices' section of the Ansan City Hall website or contact the Small Business Support Division at Ansan City Hall for guidance.
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, said, "We will continue to develop practical and diverse support measures for small businesses to revitalize the local economy."
