The winner of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature has been selected as Hungarian novelist Laszlo Krasznahorkai, age 71.
The Swedish Academy announced on October 9 (local time) that Laszlo Krasznahorkai of Hungary has been chosen as the recipient of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature.
He is an acclaimed author known for works such as his debut novel "Satantango" (1985) and "The Melancholy of Resistance" (1989). In 2015, he became the first Hungarian writer to win the International category of the Man Booker Prize (now the Booker Prize).
