Yoon Ina started on the 10th hole and made her only bogey at the 12th hole (both par 4), but immediately recovered with an eagle at the 13th hole (par 5). She then collected six more birdies and climbed to the top of the leaderboard. Yoon Ina has yet to record a top-10 finish; her best result so far is a tie for 14th at the US Women's Open, a major tournament.

Ji Eun Shin also shot a bogey-free round with seven birdies, joining the group tied for second. She is aiming for her second LPGA Tour victory, nine years and five months after her last win at the VOA Texas Shootout in May 2016. Lim Jinhee is looking to break into the top ranks, currently tied for 10th at 5-under-par 67. Lee Somin, who teamed up with Lim Jinhee to win the Dow Championship, a two-player team event in June, is tied for 14th at 4-under-par 68.

Kim Seyoung is tied for 17th at 3-under-par 69, while Choi Hyejin and An Narin are both tied for 27th at 2-under-par 70. Defending champion Yin Ruoning (China) is tied for 45th at 1-under-par 71. A total of 82 players are competing in this event, and there will be no cut over the four days, so all players will battle for position throughout the tournament.
