Byung-Hun An showed his strength.


On October 9, at Yokohama Country Club (par 71, 7,135 yards) in Yokohama, Japan, he played the first round of the PGA Tour Baker Rent Classic (total prize money of 8 million dollars), recording four birdies and two bogeys. He finished with a 2-under-par 69, tying for 12th place. He is two strokes behind the joint leaders, Bud Cauley, Max Greyserman, and Brian Campbell (all from the United States), who each shot a 4-under-par 67.

Byung-Hun An has recorded two top-10 finishes this season, tying for 8th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March and tying for 6th at the RBC Canadian Open in June. Before this tournament, he was ranked 78th in the FedEx Cup standings. If he finishes the season within the top 70, he will qualify to compete in two signature events at the start of the 2026 season.


Adam Scott (Australia) and Takumi Kanaya (Japan) are among those chasing from a tie for 4th place at 3-under-par 68, just one stroke behind. Kim Siwoo and Im Sungjae finished the first round tied for 25th at even-par 71, as did Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele (both from the United States). Hideki Matsuyama (Japan) is tied for 34th at 1-over-par 72, while Kim Joo-hyung is tied for 63rd at 4-over-par 75. A total of 78 players are competing in this tournament over four days with no cut.
