Chairman Cho Proposes Formation of "Ruling and Opposition Emergency Economic Security Meeting"
Cho Kuk, Chairman of the Emergency Response Committee of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, proposed on October 9 that a bipartisan body called the "Ruling and Opposition Emergency Economic Security Meeting," involving all party leaders, be formed to respond to the customs tariff pandemic related to the Korea-US tariff negotiations.

On this day, which was the last day of the Chuseok holiday, Chairman Cho held a press conference at the National Assembly and stated, "Now, the national interest must be the highest value, and both the ruling and opposition parties should unite for the national interest and stand with the people."
He criticized, "The attitude of the United States is not 'negotiation' but 'coercion,'" and added, "We must make it clear that we reject unilateral and unfair tariff withdrawals and demands for advance payments, and warn that any actions departing from an equal Korea-US alliance will not be tolerated."
He also emphasized, "I once again urge the swift passage of a National Assembly resolution strongly protesting the unfair actions of the Trump administration in the United States."
On the same day, Chairman Cho, along with Floor Leader Seo Wangjin and others, also held a press conference in front of the U.S. Embassy in Jongno District, calling for the withdrawal of unfair tariff pressure.
Chairman Cho stated, "Just as we led the early end of the Yoon Suk Yeol administration and spearheaded prosecutorial reform, we have been tasked with fighting at the forefront to protect South Korea's economic sovereignty," adding, "We will put the public sentiment from Chuseok into action."
Regarding the judiciary, he pointed out, "The Innovation Party did not immediately bring forward the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae, who led the 'unprecedented presidential election intervention' ruling, because we wanted to give the court time to reform itself. However, Chief Justice Cho remained silent and protected both Judge Ji Guyon and the judge involved in the drinking incident."
He then warned, "If Chief Justice Cho refuses to attend the National Assembly audit, declines to take the witness oath, or fails to present a judicial reform plan, the Innovation Party will no longer exercise patience."
