Noh Beomsu Claims Taebaek Champion Title
Kim Muho Secures Hallasan Champion Title
The "Withus Pharmaceutical 2025 Uljoo Chuseok Ssireum Championship," hosted by Uljoo County (Governor Lee Soongeol) at the Uljoo Sports Center from October 2 to October 8, concluded amidst enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
This event, organized by the Korea Ssireum Association and supervised by the Uljoo County Sports Council and the Ulsan Ssireum Association, brought together more than 300 athletes from across the country. The competitors engaged in fierce battles for championship titles, adding excitement to the holiday festivities.
The Uljoo County Government Haetteumi Ssireum Team, competing on their home ground, achieved remarkable results as Noh Beomsu claimed the Taebaek Champion title and Kim Muho secured the Hallasan Champion title, once again demonstrating the strength of Uljoo, a renowned hub for ssireum.
In the men's division, the following athletes were crowned champions: Soebaek Champion Lee Wansu (Jeungpyeong County Office), Taebaek Champion Noh Beomsu (Uljoo County Office), Geumgang Champion Choi Jeongman (Yeongam County Folk Ssireum Team), Hallasan Champion Kim Muho (Uljoo County Office), and Baekdu Champion Kim Minjae (Yeongam County Folk Ssireum Team).
In the women's division, the titles went to: Maehwa Champion Choi Dahye (Goesan County Office), Gukhwa Champion Lee Jaeha (Ansan City Hall), Mugunghwa Champion Kim Dayoung (Goesan County Office), and Ansan City Hall took home the Hwangso Trophy in the team competition.
Lee Soongeol, Governor of Uljoo County, stated, "I am delighted that this tournament has helped widely promote the appeal of our traditional sport of ssireum and provided a unique source of enjoyment for residents and visitors during the holiday period. I would like to thank the people of Uljoo County and ssireum fans for their interest and support in making this event a success."
