"We Will Make This a Great City for Raising Children"
Children's Cultural Performances Including Magic Shows Planned
Daegu Jung-gu District (District Mayor Ryu Kyuhwa) will hold the "Kim Kwangseok-gil Children's Cultural Performance: Playground Full of Innocence in Autumn" on October 11 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kim Kwangseok-gil Outdoor Concert Hall and the upper park, in celebration of the district's population reaching 100,000 again.
This event is designed so that children and families can enjoy it together and create special memories. Through a variety of performances and hands-on activities tailored to children's perspectives, it aims to foster creativity and sensitivity, as well as contribute to intergenerational communication and the creation of a family-friendly cultural environment.
The stage will feature a juggling show that offers both fun and excitement, a bubble and magic show to spark children's imagination, a big balloon show showcasing the fantastic appeal of balloons, and screenings of animated films for families to enjoy together. In addition, interactive experience booths such as scratch drawing and bubble & magic balloon making will be operated, providing an enjoyable time for both children and families.
Ryu Kyuhwa, Mayor of Daegu Jung-gu District, said, "I hope this children's cultural performance will be a special experience that nurtures innocence for children and a precious time for families to laugh and enjoy together," adding, "We will continue to expand family-friendly cultural environments to make Jung-gu a vibrant district and a great city for raising children."
Daegu Jung-gu District regained a population of 100,000 in July. After reaching 100,000 residents in 1997, the population of Daegu Jung-gu District had been declining each year. However, since 2021, with the construction of apartments and officetels in the downtown area, the population has increased by about 5,000 each year, allowing the district to recover to 100,000 residents in July for the first time in 27 years.
