Gyeonggi Office of Education Introduces "Cheoeumpumae" Program to Support Infant Developmental Stages

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will implement a support program for the growth of both guardians and infants.

The office announced on October 9 that it will run the "Cheoeumpumae(Ae)" program from October 10 to November 28 for daycare centers in the province that care for infants aged 0 to 2.

The "Cheoeumpumae(Ae)" program aims to support the formation of a secure initial attachment between guardians and infants, and to closely assist infants' developmental stages by strengthening guardians' parenting capabilities. The program goes beyond simple support for activities, as it is meaningful in that it lays the foundation for integrated early childhood education and care through cooperation between families and educational institutions.

The office will provide support to 400 daycare centers, once per institution, for two areas: play activities that foster attachment between guardians and infants, and instructor fees for training programs to strengthen guardians' parenting skills. The instructor fee is up to 300,000 won for a two-hour session.

Main areas of support include: ▲sensory play ▲emotional play with picture books ▲physical expression using music ▲parenting guidance by developmental stage ▲positive parenting attitudes and interaction techniques.

An official from the office stated, "We will continue to strengthen the support system for young children in line with the era of integrated early childhood education and care, through ongoing cooperation between families and educational institutions."
