October 12 at Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall
German cellist Daniel M?ller-Schott, 49, will hold a solo recital at the Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts Center on October 12. This is his first solo recital in Korea in seven years since 2018.
M?ller-Schott is regarded as a performer who continues the tradition of authentic German music. For this visit, he will present major currents in German music history while also performing works that are beloved by the public. The program spans a wide range of eras and styles, from the classical and romantic periods to the twentieth century.
The centerpiece of the program will be Beethoven's Cello Sonata No. 3 and Brahms's Cello Sonata No. 2. Beethoven’s sonata demonstrates a balanced form in which the piano and cello sing with equal voices, while Brahms’s work incorporates orchestral colors within a symphonic structure.
In addition, Webern’s Three Pieces will add tension with their brief yet explosive energy, and the recital will conclude with the warm lyricism of Schumann’s Fantasiest?cke, known for its poetic beauty.
Pianist Cho Jaehyuck will accompany him.
