At around 3:47 p.m. that day, a sedan driven by a man in his 50s crashed into a guardrail on a bridge in Hongcheon County, Gangwon Province. As a result of the accident, the driver's mother, who was in her 80s and seated in the passenger seat, died, while the driver and his father, also in his 80s and seated in the back, were injured.

It was reported that the family was returning home after visiting relatives for the Chuseok holiday when the accident occurred.

In Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. B, fell from a breakwater and drowned. He was transported to the hospital by emergency responders while in cardiac arrest but was pronounced dead. Police and fire authorities believe Mr. B fell while collecting shellfish and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.

Additionally, at around 1:20 a.m. that day, a fire broke out at a karaoke room in Yeongdo District, Busan. The fire was extinguished after three hours, but one person was found dead inside. Two customers in their 30s were taken to the hospital, and four others in the same building received treatment for smoke inhalation.

Later, at around 2:50 a.m., an eight-vehicle collision occurred near the former Gaegum Tollgate on the Dongseo Elevated Road in Busan, resulting in four people, including drivers, being transported to the hospital for treatment. The accident reportedly began when a sedan skidded on the wet road and crashed into the central divider while heading toward the outskirts of the city.
