"Willing to Endure Criticism and Misunderstandings... Will Do Whatever It Takes for the People"

President Lee Jaemyung stated, "Even if I have to give my all, enduring criticism and misunderstandings, I am determined to do whatever it takes if it can add even a small benefit to the lives of our people. I am approaching state affairs with this resolve."

On the morning of October 7, President Lee posted this message on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), adding, "Once again, I promise to look after the livelihood of our people with greater humility and attention to detail, for a better tomorrow."

This statement is seen as a renewed clarification of the administration’s direction for state affairs after Chuseok, amid ongoing political controversy over the stalled Korea-U.S. customs negotiations and debates surrounding the filming of the variety show 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' during the National Information Resources Service fire. On September 28, prior to a Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting, President Lee and the First Lady briefly took time to record the program to promote K-Food globally. The episode aired at 10 p.m. on October 6.

President Lee further remarked, "As we celebrate the holiday, I am reminded once again that the president’s greatest responsibility is to carefully look after the people, each living in different environments and circumstances."

He continued, "As I mentioned in my Chuseok greetings, the reality of people’s livelihoods makes it difficult to fully enjoy the holiday. Even so, I hope we can support one another, share hope, and find time to smile and encourage each other together."

Meanwhile, on this day, President Lee also attached several photos on social media, presumed to have been taken during the Chuseok greetings on October 4 with First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, both wearing traditional Hanbok attire.
