People Power Party: "A Disheartening Chuseok... What the People Want Is a Government That Fulfills Its Role"

On October 6, the People Power Party stated, "As a party that upholds the core of the nation, we will protect the safety of the people and the order of law and common sense," in celebration of Chuseok.

Park Sunghoon, the party's chief spokesperson, released a commentary on this day, saying, "Especially in times of pressure and confusion, we will not forget our original intention that 'the lives of the people come first.'"

Spokesperson Park emphasized, "This year's Chuseok feels heavier than ever. The nation's core computer networks were paralyzed, causing inconvenience for the public, and customs negotiations have reached a deadlock. At a time when the administration should be stabilized, news of the president and first lady appearing on an entertainment program has only deepened the public's disappointment and sense of futility."

He also pointed out, "The controversy surrounding Kim Hyunji, the head of the presidential secretariat, and the arrest of former Korea Communications Commission Chairperson Lee Jinsook have raised fundamental questions about where the center of state affairs truly lies."

He stressed that the government and the ruling party have remained silent and relied on partisan logic rather than providing explanations, stating, "What the people want now is a properly functioning nation and a government that fulfills its responsibilities."

Chief Spokesperson Park added, "The People Power Party will take full responsibility so that the people can once again have hope. We wish for abundance and joy to fill the hearts of everyone in the nation."
