"I will reveal the truth and prove my innocence"

Kwon Seongdong, a member of the People Power Party, sent Chuseok greetings to the citizens of Gangneung, his constituency. Kwon is currently under arrest and standing trial on charges of receiving illegal political funds from the Unification Church.
On October 4, Kwon delivered his Chuseok message titled "To the Beloved People of Gangneung" through his social media account. He began by saying, "This year, I can only send my heartfelt wishes from afar. Regardless of the reason, I feel deeply apologetic."
Kwon expressed his longing for Gangneung and shared his happiness that the long drought had finally ended. Addressing the allegations of receiving illegal political funds, he stated, "The claim that I received money from someone I was meeting for the first time is a baseless story that shows no understanding of either Kwon Seongdong or the spirit of Gangneung." He added, "The special prosecutor is focused on spreading the case rather than investigating it. Instead of objective evidence, they are relying solely on false statements."
Kwon continued, "The wise citizens of Gangneung will never be deceived by lies. I will reveal the truth and prove my innocence," adding, "Just as the Moon Jae-in administration could not bring me down, the Lee Jaemyung administration will never be able to defeat me."
He concluded by saying, "I will never forget the interest and support you have shown me. Before long, I will return to your side with the truth," and wished, "May every household enjoy peace and good health this Chuseok."
