On October 5, just one day before Chuseok, Lee Hyunjae, mayor of Hanam City, personally visited and encouraged those working diligently behind the scenes to ensure that citizens could enjoy a safe and happy holiday.

At 5:40 a.m. that day, before dawn had fully lifted, Mayor Lee visited the waste transfer station and met with environmental public service employees preparing for their shifts. He expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you for your dedication to maintaining a clean urban environment."

Hanam City announced that during the Chuseok holiday period (October 3 to 9), household waste would be collected as usual except on the day of Chuseok itself, and that a rapid response team would operate throughout the holiday to minimize inconvenience for citizens.

Later, at around 7 a.m., Mayor Lee visited the Hanam Public Bus Garage, the Changwoo-dong BRT Transfer Center, and the CCTV control room in succession, encouraging transportation workers and safety personnel working to ensure traffic safety for those traveling to and from their hometowns during the holiday.

Mayor Lee said, "Please do your utmost to ensure that citizens can spend the holiday with peace of mind," adding, "The health and safety of transportation workers directly contribute to the happiness of our citizens."

At 9 a.m., Mayor Lee visited Yeongnak Senior Center, spending warm moments with the elderly by holding their hands and checking on their well-being. He asked, "Are you enjoying the holiday?" and the seniors responded with bright smiles. To the staff, he said, "Thank you for your efforts to ensure that the elderly can spend a warm and comfortable holiday."

Afterwards, Mayor Lee visited the Waterworks Department and the wildfire monitoring room, commending the dedication of those who protect the city's water supply and prevent disasters, saying, "Your commitment is what sustains the daily life of Hanam City."

In the afternoon, he moved on to medical facilities safeguarding citizens' health. He visited medical institutions and pharmacies in operation during the holiday, such as Haetsal Hospital and Saesol Children's Hospital, to encourage the medical staff. Hanam City is operating an emergency medical response center during the Chuseok holiday and has designated hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies to remain open in order to minimize any gaps in medical care.

He also visited the municipal Haetsal Daycare Center and the municipal Haengbokmoa Daycare Center in Misagangbyeon City, meeting childcare teachers dedicated to emergency childcare. In the daycare center filled with the bright laughter of children, Mayor Lee said, "Thank you for creating an environment where parents can entrust their children with peace of mind even during the holiday."

Afterwards, he visited Misa Station, Hanam Pungsan Station, Hanam City Hall Station, and Hanam Geomdansan Station, taking time to communicate with station staff and passengers celebrating the holiday. After listening to reports on passenger forecasts and preparedness during the holiday period, he expressed deep gratitude to the station staff who serve as the backbone of public transportation for citizens.
